Stephen Joseph Wolf MUSIC
Around the year 2000, I began to render some of the psalms into traditional hymn melodies and singing them in Morning and Evening Prayer. When first learning the ukulele in 2017, these were some of the first tunes I worked out three-finger chords for. After retirement, I was surprised to find myself writing new songs to old tunes and new songs with new tunes, drawing heavily from the music I learned while publishing the Three-Finger-Chord books, from the Nashville Ukulele Society, and at the Nashville Old Time String Band Association (NOTSBA) annual Breaking Up Winter. Attending a Music For Seniors songwriting workshop and joining in the Songwriters Affinity Group of the writing non-profit The Porch in Nashville's Berry Hill, I was encouraged to release some of these songs. And they keep coming. In Divine Eyes is my first experiment with this, and I am working on a Christmas album.

Walkin' in the Neighborhood of Summer: a work in progress
Come Holy Trinity
You may know that the year before entering seminary I had what can reasonably be called a religious experience prompted by a song sung at mass on Pentecost Sunday with the prayer: Come Holy Spirit, take hold of my life.
This is still a basic prayer for me, and so I have slowly grown it into a song to the Abba, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. Of course, it is arranged here for the ukulele, and will be part of Rainbow Hymns for Dawn & Dusk, soon to be published.
